Colorado Live Events provided complete AV production for POPL 2025 at The Curtis Hotel in Denver — a multi-day conference spanning two general session rooms and six breakout rooms running simultaneously.
Each space was built out for how it was actually used: an LED video wall for one general session, dual projection screens for the other, and a mix of professional audio and display gear scaled to each of the six breakout rooms — all run against multiple parallel load-in and strike schedules throughout the event.
One of the two general session rooms centered around a full LED video wall, run alongside a WING Compact digital mixer for clean, professional audio throughout the room.
The second general session took a different approach entirely — dual large-format projection screens driven by a laser HD projector, giving organizers a second visual style for the program without sacrificing brightness or clarity.
The six breakout rooms each got their own scaled-to-size AV package — HK Audio Elements Linear 5 speakers, a mix of Mackie and PreSonus analog mixers, and Behringer XAir 12 and XAir 18 digital mixers depending on the room.
Screen sizes ranged from 120"×69" to 144"×83", supplemented with pull-up displays, and laser HD projectors between 4,200 and 5,000 lumens matched to each room's size and ambient light.
With eight spaces running AV at once, the real challenge wasn't any single room — it was the schedule. Load-in and strike for each room happened independently, on its own timeline, without disrupting sessions already underway elsewhere in the hotel.
Our team ran a coordinated crew rotation across all eight rooms throughout the multi-day event, with dedicated technicians on hand for both general sessions and on-call support across the breakout rooms.
